'These Things Take Time' - Michael Kors MK-5128 Rose Gold Watch

Hi everyone,

So I hope you all had a lovely Christmas; I just can't believe how quickly it has come and gone this year, and how the new year is nearly here. I love being nosey and seeing what people got for Christmas on blogs and on YouTube, and although I don't think I will do a whole blog post on what I got (the majority was food related anyway - usually of the sweet variety :) ) I thought I would just show you the lovely watch I received as I thought you might like to see it before it appears in new year's outfit posts.

So just to start by saying I am not normally a watch person. I have ridiculously tiny wrists and I hate when watches move around your arm and you end up scratching them on tables etc etc. I'm also not really into small, dainty watches; just like my jewellery I much prefer statement pieces, but I suppose that is just personal preference.

So you have probably seen similar watches like this floating around blogs for what feels like years now, and of course I am probably the last one on the bandwagon, but in all honesty it was never the watch itself that stopped me from buying, it was, as I said above, the fact I am not a watch person. This particular style is the MK-5128 Rose Gold Plated Chronograph Watch.

What I love about it is the Rose Gold. I'm not a fan of gold jewellery and I do like silver, but I just think the rose colour is so lovely and versatile and a little bit different; it also makes it much more of a feminine style as the watch itself is very chunky.

I mean, most sensible people would probably go for a smaller watch if they had tiny wrists like me, but no, I decide to go for nearly the biggest (I actually nearly chose a larger one thinking this one would be too small, but luckily I looked at someone elses blog and the bigger watch looked a little 'too' big).

Now, I know what you're all thinking, this is a very expensive gift, and yes you would be right, but I actually spent a few weeks looking for the best deal, and of course Asos saved the day and decided to give 25% off for students, which considerably reduced the price - Asos is always there when you need them and they even sent me a huge bar of Maltesers chocolate for free - at least some big companies have a little Christmas spirit left!

I hope you enjoyed this little review of the watch, it's quite hard to talk about sizing as everyone's wrist are different, but I had mine shortened at my local jeweller free of charge, so that was very easy. I will leave the link to the watch on Asos if you want to have a little look at some different pictures and other 'boring' details about the watch.

Thanks for reading and let's hope I can train myself not to check my phone but check my wrist when someone asks me for time!
Happy New Year if I don't speak to you before then - and don't forget to comment!

"I Put Some New Shoes On, And Suddenly Everything Is Right"

Hi everyone,

So I've been on the search for a pair of really nice flats the past few weeks as I've been living in my Topshop Arabel2 boots and my Primark Grey suede heels as they are my most comfortable shoes at the moment. I decided that I needed to get some really nice flats though to wear with skirts or trousers, and I thought I would look for a pair of loafers, which I didn't even realise were everywhere in stores at the moment.

So, when I went shopping yesterday I had a little look at every single pair of 'loafer-style' shoes and just couldn't find one the right colour, the right style, the right anything really. But then Primark surprised me once again and I found the perfect pair of loafers that were exactly how I had pictured the pair I wanted in my head.

At £12, they were a bargain of course, and they are a lovely maroon colour which will be perfect for all seasons; I just hope they last that long! I love the little tassels on the front as they just make them a little bit different, and honestly this was the best shape and style of loafer I had seen all day, even online.

I did have to size up on these just because they are quite thin and I have pretty wide feet, but the size 6 was a perfect fit. I also think the soles of the shoe are perfect for this ridiculously wet weather we have been having in England, and being rubber I think they will definitely last for quite a long time.

I also think they look pretty expensive for what they were; I've seen similar styles online but for a lot more money. I suppose they might not be everyone's 'cup of tea' but I think they work well as an alternative to boots in the winter as they seem pretty sturdy shoes that will last through the colder months.

For the sake of this post, I decided to pair them with my Topshop Mom Jeans and I think this will probably be an outfit I will wear quite regularly in the next few months. I also think they will look good with tights as the colour pretty much goes with anything.

I hope you liked this post and if I don't post before then, I hope you all have a lovely Christmas. I would have loved to have done some Christmassy posts as it's my favourite time of year but uni only finished last week and by then I'd already missed the majority of the countdown - but maybe next year!

Thanks for reading!

So Susan Cosmetics

Hi everyone,

So, in this post I will be reviewing a new make-up brand I came across at the Clothes Show Live last week in Birmingham.

So, before I say anything about the make-up itself, let's just take a minute to appreciate the beautiful packaging of this gorgeous make-up brand 'So Susan'. I really have a feeling this is going to be a MASSIVE future cosmetics brand!
As I was at the Clothes Show, I got this gorgeous gift bag with four of the brands products for just £5! Honestly, I would have paid a lot more for it - and I'm sure you all would if you could see them!

The first product was this lovely make-up palette; the Intense Eye Shadow Palette. I have to say I'm not usually a fan of these sort of palettes that are already put together, but honestly these are gorgeous colours and extremely good quality. I'm not entirely sure what 'Coated Pigments' are but they sound good :) they are lovely though, and as I have green eyes, purples are the colours suggested to make your eyes pop! And don't you think the branding looks so expensive? This eye-shadow is £25, so it's not on the cheap side, but the colours and quality are something you would expect (may I say it) of a very high-end make-up brand.

The next product is a gorgeous highlighter; the Water-based Pure Luminizer. As I have quite oily skin at the moment, I've been a bit apprehensive about using highlighters, but as this says on the packaging it is even perfect for oily skin types - could you ask for anything more? (if you have oily skin that is!)

When I tried this the other day, it reminded me of the Topshop Glow and even Benefit's High Beam, it really is lovely and has the most gorgeous look on the skin - definitely my favourite thing that I got in the gift bag. At £25, again it is quite expensive, but what I like about this is that it isn't as bright as it is slightly gold in colour, so looks very natural.

Another product which I was very excited to have received was the 8-hour Cheek Stain. I have never tried a solid blush like this, but the colour is beautiful - a very bright pinky peach colour. A little goes a long way (as I experienced first hand :) ) but that just means it is going to last a LONG time, and again at £25, that's very economical!

The colour is like one I've never seen before though, a really lovely bright colour. I also love the fact you can just throw it into a bag and use it on-the-go, without having to take a brush with you. I think this is going to be great for in the winter to give a natural glow to the cheeks.

The final product, is the lovely Lip & Cheek Sublime (Moisturising Lip and Cheek Stain). At £10, it is pretty good value, and for a 2-in-1 product it just makes it better!

This colour is very similar to the cheek stain above, this very unusual shade of peachy pink. It is very moisturising and is very easy to apply, and for £10, very good value. When I applied it the first time, I did notice it had gone patchy, but I think when applied properly under a lip balm after using a lip scrub it would look a lot better, but the colour did look lovely - which I suppose is one of the most important things!

I will leave the link to each product below, and if you are interested just look into the brand and check out their Blog. As they are an up-and-coming brand, they only have a few products online and only in certain colours, but I'm sure this will begin to change in the future!

I hope you like this review and check out my Clothes Show Live Post here if you want to see what else I saw there.

Thanks for reading,

CLOTHES SHOW LIVE 2013

Hi everyone,

So on Saturday I went to the Clothes Show Live in Birmingham with two of my friends, so if you haven't heard of it or don't know what to expect then I will show you a few pictures of what they have to offer :) I apologise for the picture quality now - these were taken on my iPhone as it is mad busy there so my SLR was not an option!

Basically, for those of you that don't know, the Clothes Show is where beauty and fashion brands sell their stock, usually at discounted prices, all in one place, and there is also a little Fashion Show if you haven't had enough of a fashion fix for one day! The brands there ranged from Ragged Priest, Vero Moda, Oh My Love, Love Clothing, Rimmel and many more - what more could you ask for!

If you are a lover of vintage clothing then the Clothes Show is a perfect place for you to find those one-off pieces, and my favourite stall (I'm so sorry I have no idea what they were called!), wasn't a vintage stall but was one that sold 'vintage-style' shirts.

I know in my Shirt Collection Post (Post 1 and Post 2) I said I would not purchase another shirt for a very long time, but I was too tempted by these ones, and after wanting this for hours I had to go back and get it (a girl was not happy when she saw me buy it as she'd just gone back to get it... sorry!)

It was £20, so not too bad in price, but I guess it might not be everyone's taste but I just love the colour and I think it will look so good with black jeans and my new navy biker jacket I've just brought (outfit post coming soon). If someone went to the Clothes Show and knows the name of this stall please let me know!

Ciate were also there, selling their famous Caviar Nails for just a fiver, from £18, which was a very popular stall as you can imagine, and Barry M were selling loads of their products in a gift bag for just £10.

We also saw Kingsland Road off the X Factor and a lot of the Made In Chelsea and TOWIE cast, so if you are a fan then you should definitely think about going next year!

They also performed at the Fashion Show, hosted by Henry Holland, and I would love to show you a few pictures but you can hardly see anything (sorry!) but it was great to see.

The little jewellery stalls were lovely and the pieces were really beautiful, and if you love quirky jewellery then you would love the Clothes Show!

My favourite item I saw that day, but unfortunately did not buy :( was this amazing jumper -this just made my Christmas :)

I hope you enjoyed this post, sorry it was very long, I just spent a lot of the day trying to get the best pictures so I could put them up on my blog! I'm pretty sure I will be going next year and I would recommend it to all of you as a day to get all your Christmas/Secret Santa presents, and maybe a few things for yourself along the way! I also found a brilliant new, up and coming beauty brand which I got a few products from and will share with you later this week.
Oh and if you're interested, I decided to wear my black cord pinafore from Primark, my 'bloggers favourite' fluffy jumper in a lovely light green colour from Topshop (still available now I think!) , my H&M cross shirt and a Primark necklace. I also wore my favourite Primark 'Super Cosy' tights and my Arabel2 boots from Topshop. (Sorry about the picture it was the clearest one I could find!)

Thanks for reading!

'A Pink Dream'

Hi everyone,

So posts have been non-existent this week due to a lot of work (sorry!), but I thought I would just show you a few products I picked up a few weeks ago.

The first is the most amazing lip colour - the Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids Collection lipstick in 'Fuchsia Flash', which I believe is Mollie King from The Saturdays lipstick.

I was so impressed with not only the beautiful colour, but for a £7.19 lipstick the formula of this is really good, very similar to the Revlon Lip Butters which I am obssessed with. The image makes it look a bit washed out, but it is very bright in the flesh, so definitely not for the faint hearted! It lasts for a long time too - I only re-apply once a day after eating which is perfect. It's just one less thing to think about in the day!

The packaging again is very similar to the Revlon Lipbutters, but it is a little confusing, as the colour of the packaging is not the same as the colour of the lipstick - so make sure you check that first! Honestly, I can't sing the praises of this lipstick enough, so definitely try it if you get the chance - it's a lovely festive bright statement lip colour!

The next two products I brought (again '3 for 2' - why can't I resist a deal!) were two of their Color Show nail varnishes one in 'Fuchsia Fever' and the other in 'Iced Queen'. These are only £2.99, so I wasn't expecting much, but I was actually so surprised how good these were.

The gorgeous purple colour may not be to everyone's taste, but I think it looks lovely, and the image was just two coats of nail varnish; it dried pretty quickly and did not chip at all until I removed it nearly two weeks later - not even an exaggeration! So for £2.99 these would be perfect stocking fillers, and 3 for 2, you could give one to a friend and then keep two for yourself!

The second one is Iced Queen and it did need a few more coats than the other polish, but, again, for £2.99 you can't complain. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this as a good white nail polish, but if you need a cheap alternative this is pretty good!

I hope you enjoyed this little beauty review and I'm going to the Clothes Show this weekend so expect to see some photos!

'Wouldn't It Be Good To Be In Your Shoes'

Hi everyone,

So I thought I would let you know about a little purchase I made yesterday. I'm not really a shoe person but I saw these shoes and fell in love with them. Firstly, they are grey, so they were pretty much sold immediately, but they are also a suede like material, so I knew I had to have them.

Okay, brace yourself ... they are from Primark, just £15. I couldn't believe it. My friend has a pretty much identical pair she got from Zara which are probably triple the price of these. I have never brought a pair of Primark shoes before so I just hope they will last me for quite a while as I think they are perfect for all year round.

I would say they also have a 'Chelsea boot' like style to them with the bit of elasticated material at the sides and they have become so popular again I thought these would be a perfect substitute - I also think Chelsea boots look really 'manly' on me so I steer well clear of them now!

I really love the base of these shoes too. I think the fact you can see the grips from the front adds a little something to them - which I think makes them look a lot more expensive than they are. Also the grip on the base of the shoes will be perfect for those icy days and save the embarrassment of falling flat on my face!

The only thing I worry about is that the suede will scuff and mark, but I suppose they are from Primark so I can't imagine they will last forever, but I think at £15 you can't really expect too much. Although I have kept them on for a few hours just to see if they will hurt my feet and they haven't as of yet so fingers crossed!

I also think the heel on this is a perfect size. I am about average height so I don't really like high heels, but I think these give me a little bit of height and I think they will become my 'Christmas Shoes' as  they can be dressed up or down. They look lovely with tights and I think with a pair of black or grey skinny jeans they will look much more casual.

I hope you enjoyed this post; I was going to show them in an outfit post but I was too excited to show you all, and you know how quick things sell in Primark so I wanted to show you them ASAP so you could get a pair if you liked them. Don't say I never treat you!

Thanks for reading and another Blog Update will be here shortly (another month has gone by already!) and a few more beauty related items so will be posting again soon!

'Fade to Grey'

Hi everyone,

So I thought I would do an outfit post with my favourite jumper at the moment. This one is from Primark and personally I don't think it looks like anything you would expect to be from Primark. It's only £10 and I reckon I've worn it enough times to say the 'cost per wear' is in pennies. It also comes in cream, bright pink and burgundy and possibly a few more colours, but as you may or may not know I love grey clothing so I had to go with this one.

The quality of this is actually very good for Primark. I love the detailing around the neck, which is also around the bottom of the jumper, and it is not too short or long so it can be worn with so many different pieces.

I decided to wear this jumper with my Faux Leather Peg Trousers from ASOS. I got them about 2 or 3 months ago and I just haven't worn them as much as I have wanted to as I struggle to decide which tops to wear with it as they are low rise.

I love the detailing around the top of the trousers and again I think they look a lot more expensive than they actually are. They are £40, but I brought them with 20% off so got them for £32 and I think they will be perfect for the colder winter months when skirts and dresses are out of the question.

I think this outfit will be perfect for those days when you want to look like you've made an effort, even though you really haven't. I hope you like this outfit and let me know in the comments if you do!

I decided not to wear any jewellery and just make it a really simple outfit but I think it could be dressed up or down anyway. For shoes I would wear my flatforms which I have literally had for years but they are so comfortable (that's why the look a bit beaten up in the picture).

I hope you enjoyed this post as I hate having my picture taken so it feels really weird actually posting this but I hope you liked the outfit and please be nice in the comments! I will leave the link for the trousers below and the jumpers are still available in most of the Primark's I have been in recently so I would advise picking one up ASAP! The nail varnish and lipstick will be reviewed soon too.

P.S I have just brought this hat from Topshop and was just wondering whether you thought it suited me or whether I should return it? Let me know in the comments!
